We had a wonderful lazy day today at The Lake of the Ozarks. What could be better on a frenetic cross country trip than to have some time to just sleep late, relax, and go on a river cruise. for a few hours.
So that is exactly what we did., after a delicious late breakfast. (Memo to self for future days: if you are ordering a large breakfast, you might as well get the overpriced buffet, because it will cost less than the a-la-carte.) I learned this years ago, and yet I keep making the same mistake), we just hung out at the room

After breakfast we took care of some housekeeping things, and then went on our cruise. It was your basic narrated cruise, with the captain telling facts about the lovely homes (one which sold for 13 million) on the shores, along with tidbits about the history of the lake.

The only problem for me is that I am very temperature sensitive, and I have a very narrow comfort zone. Anything lower than 60 or higher than 80 makes me miserable. But at least with colder temps you can bundle up. Today’s high of 90 was really uncomfortable for everybody.

We were sitting in the lower deck to keep out of the sun, but it was sweltering until some brilliant soul (not us) figured out that if we opened the doors of the lower salon we could get some cross-ventilation.

It was a great trip, but it just could have been a little cooler.
Dinner was good, off campus, so to speak. ——.
So we are looking forward to tomorrow with more of the same laziness
